Mountain Crest Park is located at the southwest corner of Lone Mountain and Durango in northwest Las Vegas. The course redesign was completed on 01-20-2003. The new layout has a better flow and is also more challenging than the previous layout with a couple of questionably close to OB pin placements. Always something to work on. ;) The tee pads are a huge improvement from the previous install, they're actually a little grippy. :)

There is currently one alternate pin placement on the 510' hole 10. I've posted maps and also some notes in the News section below.

2006-08 : holes 14 (197ft), 15 (200ft) & 16 (249ft) have all been shortened by Parks and Rec. I understand the reason is parked cars getting hit and golfers trespassing to get their discs back from neighboring homes/yards.

The baskets are Innova Champion DISCatcher targets. Sleeves have also been installed so the holes can be easily rearranged in the future. On roughly half of the baskets double chains have been installed which dramatically add to the basket's holding ability - i.e. putts don't pop out the other side as easily.

Course News

2006-08-23 :: holes 14, 15, & 16 are being shortened as too many golfers are hopping walls to retrieve their errant throws - if stuff like this continues to happen don't be suprised if the course gets pulled. If you throw in someone's backyard let it go.

2006-01-16 :: added course photos that I'd taken in November 2005

2004-02-02 :: added an aerial map of the park

12-08-03 :: [posted by Cary] New Course Record at Mountain Crest. I shot a -15 during a money round on the 23rd of November. I missed long 10 and hit the cage on my birdie tries at 4 and 8. Hit the last 8 to get the fifteen. Won the money round by 5.

01-29-2003 :: I'm sure that someone has shot better than (-8), maybe Cary or Chuck or Scott (to name a few) let me know so I can post it.

01-26-2003 :: Baskets 3, 5 ,10 & 18 are now the correct height. They were each missing a nut and bolt assembly, so I grabbed some at the local hardware store and installed them. The tee signs were also put in a couple of days ago by Vince Gardner and Lanny LaCroix (correct me if I'm wrong). Thanks to everyone for all their effort in getting this course in such nice shape.

01-20-2003 :: The new layout is complete and all the baskets and pads are in. Tee signs should be up and complete within the next couple of weeks, per Vince Gardner. Thanks to Vince, John Katsigenis, Rob Toltzman, Tyler Toltzman and all others that helped get the course in.

04-02-2001 :: Rob Toltzman emailed with that he had shot a 15 under with his son the other day. He has also aced holes #18, #9, and #7. His son, Tyler hit the basket on #9 also, but bounced out. :)

01-22-2001 :: I played Mtn Crest on Saturday with my mom, dad and wife. Then I played with a group of golfers on Sunday and I've posted some 'Course Records'. Mtn Crest is a good course for Worst Shot or Tough Shot doubles. The holes are not too long and the layout is pretty easy... it's got a lot of potential.

01-19-2001 :: The baskets are in. Pat Bragg played it this morning. As soon as the park officially opens I'll update the map and post it.
