| 2007.10.30 | 2007 Las Vegas Halloween Clasic Update!
Another great tournament was just hosted by the Las Vegas Disc Golf Club. The 2007 Halloween Classic, ran by Scott Buff and Charles Matheson, was one of the smoothest tournaments ever. Weather was great, players had fun, and payout was amazing. Thanks to Innova 's candy fund raiser program and Mark Molnar and DiscGolfValues.com selling tournament discs for the club, over $7,000 was collected for this tournament. Amateurs weekend payout, including player packages and trophy costs, was 162% of the entries. (Not bad for a little B-Tier Event.) We had 90 total players, with the Intermediate field being the largest (33 players). Winds were strong all weekend, and on Sunday morning players found Hole 18 buried by a fallen, 50', tree. Dave Brownlow beat out our TD, Scott Buff, in a three-hole sudden deat h play-off for first place for the MA1 division. Kristara Lee, all the way from Colorado, won the FW1 division. Ken Swafford won M M1 and Dave Johnson won MG1. The MA2 division was won by Tom Bennett. And wrapping up the Ams, our new local woman, Dolores Ricker , won the FW3 while Randy Pendleton won MA3. Pro weekend payout, not including player packages and trophy costs, was 203% of the entries. (Holy crap!!! And this is just a B-Ti er Event?) Including packages and trophy costs, the payback was 231%!!! We had 58 players, with the Open field being the largest ( 34 players). Weather was perfect!!! Steve Rico shot an amazing second round (55, or 17 under and most of the pins were in the long position...and 4 putts fell out), to win the MPO division. First place MPO was $1,000. Sheila Kirkham, our New Mexico friend, won $280 in the FPO division. The MPM was won by Mike Milne, and he took home $480. Our long-time local club member, Jeff Kennedy, wo n $325 by winning the MGM division. Next year, the event will be combined into one three-day weekend, with assigned tee times, one round a day. Reserve October 31, Nov ember 1, and November 2, 2008 on your schedules. This format reduces staff's workload (only a handful of us actually run the events ), and can accommodate the same, if not more, players. Speaking of three-day events, the 2008 Gentlemen's Club Challenge has been set for February 29th, March 1st, and March 2nd. Amateur spots are limited, so sign up ASAP. The entry form and other information will be continuously update at lvdiscgolf.com and lvbagta g.com. |

| 2007.01.17 | 2007 GCC COURSE UPDATE
The course layout has changed from 24 holes to 20 holes, hole average will be around 400ft. The entry form has been updated to reflect this change. "The course has been revised. Only playing 20 holes now. Combining the following holes: 1 to 2, 4 to 5, 13 to 14, 16 to 17, and 22 to 23. Also adding hole A near tournament central. Average hole length should be around 400 feet. Kept some short holes, many righty and lefy holes, and now have TRUE par 3 and par 4 placement holes. (No more just throw as long as you can!!!!)" - TD Jeff Jacquart |

| 2006.09.20 ::> | BIG D IN THE DESERT @ PRIMM, NV/STATE LINE
I was just reminiscing about Big D, so I checked out Mark's discgolfvalues.com
- BIG D is here again! It's at stateline, only 40 min from Vegas! If you haven't
been there before and I think only a handful of guys from Vegas
have, it's an international event! Chris Max Voight flys in from Europe every
time! Several others have come over in the past, including Christian Sandstrom
(current world record holder (2002 - 250M/820FT)). |

| 2006.09.07 ::> | SUNSET PARK - HALLOWEEN TOURNEY - COURSE UPDATE
I have to admit, I haven't had a lot of time to play lately, I probably haven't played a full round at Sunset in 6 months...
I drove by Sunset the other day and was pleasantly suprised at how green the course is at this time of year! As many of the loyal
Halloween Classic participants know, over the last couple of years, Sunset Park has been *very* dry and dusty. For Vegas, it's a
lush green! |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 2006.08.23 ::> | CHANGES AT MTN CREST
I heard today that Mtn Crest will be changing once again. Holes 14, 15 & 16 will be shortened this week. You ask why? Golfers are still hopping the adjacent private community's walls to retrieve their discs and too many cars are being hit on the street. Please everyone - if your disc ends up in someone's yard - don't hop the wall! Let it go, it's a $10 disc, you can afford another one. |

| 2006.06.07 ::> | REMEMBERING PAPA AUSTIN
John “Papa” Austin, PDGA #15359, passed away Tuesday afternoon while jogging. His son and best friend, Scott, was by his side during the incident. He seemed to be in great shape (played disc golf on Sunday and Monday), and the news comes as a shock to all. He won last year’s Las Vegas Halloween Classic, Pro Grand Master’s Division, with literally no sleep. (Worked from 7 PM to 7 AM, and then played in the tournament during the day.) John was always there to help prepare the disc golf course for events (found many missing sleeve placements and relocated baskets), consistently beating many of us out on the course (using either his left or right arm), and will be sorely missed. Papa's son, Scott, will be hosting an informal get-together at his house this Friday, June 9th, from 4 PM to 7 PM. The address is 397 Award Ct., in Henderson. Directions are as follows:
Cary Trotter is collecting funds for a tree/plaque at Sunset Park. Anyone wishing to contribute should contact Cary. Send pictures you may have of John "Papa" Austin enjoying the sport of disc golf to the lvbagtag webmaster. |

| 2006.04.27 ::> | LVDISCGOLF.COM OUTAGE
As anyone who has tried to access lvdiscgolf over the last week or so has noticed, we haven't been around.
Mail is still down at this time, but I expect to have it back up later tonight. We had a drive failure on our server
and ended up losing some data - coupled with the fact that I'm a dad again (we had a baby girl 2 weeks ago) - it
has been very slow getting lvdiscgolf back into production. I'll post updates as they are available. |

| 2006.03.01 ::> | GCC IS COMPLETE!
Big thanks to all of our sponsors, TD Jeff Jacquart and all the tournament staff (Jose, Jon, Dean, Dewey, Big-E, Pat and the countless other locals who contributed) - this was one of the smoothest tournaments we've had in a while. All the players I spoke with really liked the 3-day format and commented on how smooth everything was... I didn't even hear anyone complaining about the tee-pads, the new OBs (curbing) or how dry the course was... it was great. Good job all! |

I've heard over the last couple of days that several tee pads had either been moved or re-poured. I got an email from Jeff Jacquart today confirmed which holes have new tee pads. Holes 2, 7, 15, 17 & 18 have new tee pads! |

| 2005.12.25 ::> | PECCOLE BASKET FUND UPDATE
I received another email from Rob regarding the Peccole Basket Fund: Here's a quick update on the basket.On Friday Lanny, Tim and I removed the old pole & concrete. We installed the new pole with 180 pounds of concrete, and let the concrete set up over night. 3 raffles were held and there were no losers. On Saturday, Lanny, Greg and I bolted the basket to the pole. We'll install numbers on the collar next week. I was the first to birdie the hole. That steep hill comes into play, I busted my ars the day before slipping. Rob and Lanny would like to thank the following people for their help and donations:
That's a great hole, it will get harder as that new tree grows. Thanks to everyone who contributed. Rob & Lanny |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 2005.12.22 ::> | SUNSET PARK BEAUTIFICATION PROJECT
For those that have played Sunset Park recently, you may have noticed that the park is being improved. Xeriscaping is being added around the park perimeter and along some of the inner streets. Vince Gardner, Tom Robinson, and Jeff Jacquart met with the Parks Department to discuss how the improvements will impact the disc golf course and upcoming events. The good news is that it really shouldn't! It will make the course a bit more challenging, but beyond that, the course shouldn't be impacted by that much. One tee pad (Hole #7) may be rebuilt and moved east, but beyond that everything else should remain the same. Tee pads which abut the new concrete border (tees #17 and #18) will include some extra protection to ensure that the Xeriscaping doesn't run off onto the tee pads. The border around the gully on hole #20 will be revised. Additionally, the tee-pads *may* be acid-washed by the Gentlemen's Club tournament (acid-washing will be completed by the Parks Department), and most, if not all, of the improvements near the disc golf course should be completed by the end of February (or before the big tournament). We know some of the baskets are close to the Xeriscaping (which will now be O.B. and all tee-signs will need to be updated), but this just makes you play our once easy course with more accuracy! |

| 2005.12.01 ::> | PECCOLE RANCH BASKET FUND
In August of 2004, basket 14 was stolen from Peccole Ranch. The Peccole Ranch Community Association (PCRA) has not replaced the basket as of today. I received an email from local disc golfer, Rob Toltzman, indicating that he and Lanny LaCroix are looking for donations to replace the basket. We are looking for players to donate what they can, $10, $20 - whatever you can afford. To date, Rob has collected $100 dollars towards the $300 new basket. Rob, myself and a group of other golfers have been involved for years in the Peccole Ranch Disc Golf course. I re-did all the tee signs several years ago. And we've all worked on moving baskets and cleaning up the course. If you are interested in donating to the basket fund, please contact Rob Toltzman and cc: me (caseyl@lvdiscgolf.com). Alternatively, you can catch Lanny or Rob while they're out playing. |

| 2005.11.07 ::> | LAS VEGAS HALLOWEEN CLASSIC - PRO WEEKEND COMPLETE
Dave Feldberg takes first place in MPO, followed by Steve Rico, Gregg Barsby and local Cary Trotter. Rob Wilson (MPM) came out on top of the 5-way tie for first after the second round beating local Duane Kline and Steve Wisecup by 2 strokes. Local John "Papa" Austin edged out Glenn Triemstra to take the win in MPG. Vicky Wisecup beat out Roe Roblez and Kellee Marshall in FPM. Kathy Manley won FPO Aces for the weekend: Dave Vincent (#24099) hit hole 1 (327ft) in the 3rd round On a side note, I'm having trouble with our web server. As a result, lvdiscgolf.com is running very slow. I should have it sorted out later this week. |

HELP GET DISC GOLF IN AT CRAIG RANCH REGIONAL PARK
There have been a core group of golfers keeping an eye on the development of the Craig Ranch Regional Park in North Las Vegas. Recently an Amenities Survey has been posted on the City of North Las Vegas website. Please take a minute to fill out the survey and make sure to fill in Other > Disc Golf under questions number 4, 5 & 7. We are all trying to get another good disc golf course in Las Vegas and this is a perfect opportunity. This new regional park will be located/replace the current Craig Ranch Golf Course. I will post more information about the park as I receive it. Please fill out the survey and include Disc Golf on questions 4, 5 & 7. |

TOURNAMENT UPDATES
Pro Weekend - Bobby Musick was 3 strokes ahead of Steve Rico at the start of round 3. Stevie carded a -12 for the last round and Bobby shot -9. It went to a sudden death playoff. A temporary hole (hole #27 at the Gentlemen's Club Challenge) was the first hole of the playoff. Steve hit a tree not too far off the pad and Bobby ended the playoff on the first hole. Look for the complete results to be posted on the PDGA's site over the next couple of days (I will post a link to the results on lvdiscgolf.com when they become available on the PDGA's site). As for the Am Tourney, I know there has been a lot of discussion on the PDGA DisCussion Board over the last couple of weeks in regards to lvdiscgolf.com availability, score postings, etc. lvdiscgolf.com had some technical issues in the weeks preceeding the tourney and it didn't help that I was out of town much of that time. As for the entrants updates, Jeff got them to me but I wasn't able to post them due to the issues with lvdiscgolf.com. Now for the scores, I believe that Jeff Jacquart (Am TD) submitted them to the PDGA on the Monday after the event. |

BASKET STOLEN FROM SUNSET PARK
This is the second stolen basket in the Valley over that last couple of months! What is going on! Basket 15 at Sunset Park was stolen. The Master locks that the club bought for the movable baskets had to but cut off because they failed. We weren't able to even get the keys in a couple of them let alone turn it once it was in. The locks were axed to move them and they didn't have locks for one night. One of the baskets walked away that night. What really sucks about this whole thing is that the basket probably won't be replaced for quite some time. The Parks Dept doesn't have the funds to replace the basket, which means we will probably hold a fundraiser or something to gather money to replace the basket. Local golfers will probably scratch together the funds to pay for the replacement. |

BASKET STOLEN FROM PECCOLE RANCH
I got an email from Rob T. today saying that basket #14 - last basket before you make the walk down Charleston - has been stolen! He said it looked like a pipe cutter was used as it was pretty clean and was about 3 inches above the grass. That sux! Why do people have to steal baskets and deprive other golfers of a great course just to have basket in their backyard! (That the thieves won't use as much as they think and even so it won't even improve their putting skills) I know Peccole may not be played as much as it used to - I haven't played up there in at least a year - but hell there are plenty of other golfers that play it regularly. I know at least one group that plays up there every week and also the locals (Peccole residents) play it pretty frequently. I'm not aware of too many money rounds up there lately, but that doesn't mean its not a great course. Rob also pointed out that basket 8 at Freedom was stolen last year and the City replaced it with old basket 1 from Freedom (pre-parking lot days). |

World's Biggest has come and gone... The Las Vegas edition of World's Biggest Disc Golf was held Saturday, May 2nd at Sunset Park. We had a pretty good turn out (>45 people), donated a good amount of money and food to the Shade Tree Shelter (~$150 cash + food donations) and had a lot of fun doing it. Jeff ran several random-draw 5-7 hole doubles events that were very well received. I 'organized' a game of guts and paid dearly for that mistake, freestlyled a bit with some old friends and played some mini golf (Jimmy D aced hole one on the mini course over 7 times!). Near the end of the event, there was a pick your partner doubles event that was played, in which Cary and Dewey shot a -15 to win the round. At -12, there was a two-way tie for second (Chuck/his partner and Jeff/me). Sadly this was a winner take all event... Overall it was great fun for everyone, hope to see more people out there next year. |

We'll also have full color Storm and Wildcats from Discraft and also a new Z-Putter, sounds like its a metallic colored plastic. (its actually clear) Cool! GCC III is complete! We had a great weekend and a really fun time with the winds gusting to about 30mph during the 2nd round on Saturday! Thanks to all of our generous sponsors and the volunteer staff that helped to keep things running smooth. Steve Rico shot a huge -14 on the last round to capture this year's 1st place Open spot, beating out Barry Schultz by three strokes. Juliana Korver took 1st in the Women's Pro Division. Jeff Kennedy took 1st place in the Pro Masters, beating out fellow local John Katsigenis by a few strokes. Our own TD, Jeff Jacquart, cashed in 12t in the Open Division. On a side note, Cary Trotter won 1st place in the Advanced Division by an astounding 15 strokes! That score beats almost half of the Open field! Congrats to all of our winners and thanks again to our sponsors and volunteers, we couldn't have done this without your support! For complete results take a look here. |

Chains at Sunset Park A huge thanks goes out to Pat Bragg, a Las Vegas Disc Golf Club member. Pat was out at Sunset last weekend replacing chains on our old baskets. The older, heavy chain has been replaced with the chains that come on the new Mach III. The baskets are great now! They've got a shiny new look and a great feel! When you see Pat out on the course give him a nice pat on the back. Thanks for all your hard work! |

Back from vacation and updates... I got back from Tahoe late Saturday night. I was up there for a week relaxing. I played Bijou once and thought about Zephyr, Truckee and Disc-Wood (Kirkwood) but I guess I was just a little too hung up on the scenery. ;) Great news for this year's Halloween Classic, we've already got over $7000 in cash added! Big D in the Desert III September 1 & 2, 2001 - El Mirage Dry Lake in the Southern California high desert. I've added a link to this event in our Upcoming Events section. Sadly, I won't be able to make it out to this event to try and break my 145M mark from the last event. I've got a wedding to attend on Saturday and then on Sunday, it my 1 year wedding anniversary. (I already ran it by Kim and its sounds like she doesn't want to go to the dry lake bed for our anniversary ;( ) Anyway, I'm hoping that some locals will make the trip (Billy Schmidt, Jason Barnes, Pat Scales, Chuck, to name a few.) See Big D in the Desert III for more info. |

Service interruptions over the last few days... If you've tried to send me email at 'caseyl@lvdiscgolf.com' and its bounced or couldn't get to http://www.lvdiscgolf.com/ in the last couple of days, I apologize. We've had a few issues with our provider for the past couple of days, they're claiming we're being used as a spam relay and we're not, but they still think we are. I'm hoping that we'll have this ironed out by Monday. Sorry for the service interruptions. I know how much everyone loves lvdiscgolf and its hard to go a day without viewing it but hang in there. ;) -Casey Lewis |

Article on DG in Las Vegas Sun and more pics uploaded... As some of you know, the Las Vegas Sun was out a couple of weeks ago taking some pics at Sunset Park. The accompanying story appeared in the Las Vegas Sun on April 18, 2001 [story] I've also posted some of the photos we received from Sam Morris, a photographer for the Las Vegas Sun, under the Gallery section. P.S. for those of you waiting for more video from Big D in the Desert, I haven't forgotten. I'm still working on it. Hang in there... |

Uploaded Quicktime clip from Big D in the Desert I was able to spend some time with a friend that has a capture card and I've gotten several clips from Big D in the Desert 2. Here a link to Chris Voight throwing ~175m - throw! [Quicktime - ~395K] I'm going to try to crank out a couple more for the web over the next couple of days. And for the guys that requested a copy of the footage, I should have it by the end of the week. |

World Record shattered again!!! I just checked my email and Mark Molnar, Big D in the Desert 2 TD, confirmed that the longest air throw record was broken. Chris Voight, who flew in from Germany for the competition, threw 217.05 meters [712.10 ft] - lengthening Scott Stokely's previous record (211.32 meters) by 5.73 meters! I haven't confirmed this with Mark yet, but from what I saw Chris throwing on Saturday, it was probably a lime green 170g Discraft XS. Mark will be posting the complete results on http://www.dtworld.com/ tomorrow. Several other records were broken or set. Check out http://www.dtworld.com/bigdin.htm for more. Personal note :: I need to practice more. I threw 145 meters [475.42 ft] on Saturday. Maybe the wind was better on Sunday and I should have stayed another day. ;) |

World Record shattered... On Saturday, March 30th at the Big D in the Desert 2 event, a distance record was shattered. The record for longest non-turf roller was set last year by Sam Ferrans with a beat up red Aviar. It was set at 365 meters. This year the record has been broken. Randy Lahm rolled a 168g Discraft XS 1165 meters! Marc Jarvis had the longest air shot by the end of day Saturday, it measured 198 meters. This mark was roughly 14 meters short of the current record 211 meters, held by Scott Stokely. I was able to stay and compete on Saturday but not able to attend Sunday's rounds. Mark Molnar should be posting complete results and possibly some pictures on http://www.dtworld.com/. I'll confirm with him on Monday and probably post the results on lvdiscgolf.com as well. Thanks to all that attended and thanks to Mark Molnar for organizing the event! |

Updates... I removed the link to http://www.Disctvonline.com/ - according to their website, they didn't get enough cash to start production. It would've been really nice to see it take off and be able to see disc golf in almost a SportCenter-like setting... well hopefully they'll try again some time and it'll happen. I've also updated the latest handicaps and have the current league standings posted. Please take a look - Las Vegas Disc Golf Club |

Back from Bob West... Well we're back from Bob West. As usual we had a great time! Thanks to Dan Ginnelly and his staff for running another top notch event! Now for the scores, well... I played like crap. I've been working a lot lately and its really starting to show. Other locals did really well though. :) Jim Choner and Doug Emery placed well in the Am Master division. I believe that Jim took second place, Doug was right there until the last round when he slipped a little... Doug and Jim also had their video cameras with them and filmed a lot of the Pro action. They've got a shot of me driving on hole 10 and making a 30ft putt. It looks really good. :) Jeff Kennedy did pretty well too. I know I'm missing a lot of guys and gals but for complete results check out: http://www.disqman.com/home.html click on 2001 Bob West Memorial and then select Final Results. It may take a few seconds to load its a pretty large page. Thanks again to the Arizona Disc Golf Club for another great Super Tour Event. |

lvdiscgolf.com re-org :: MORE Its been five days and the only thing I've really changed is some of the directory structure and added a bit to the courses section. I will be adding many more images and also hopefully some new sections. If any one is interested in helping please email me, caseyl@lvdiscgolf.com. I'm looking for people with pictures, stories, etc... I'm also looking for people to help me scan photos (Thanks to Pat Scales, he scanned the most recent batch that I haven't had a chance to put up yet). I want to also add a database side to my image collection to better organize and even make it searchable. May be some day I'll be able to do all this... I'll also be changing out the pic of me at the 1999 Am Worlds. Chuck, maybe I'll put you up for a while... or maybe JK. If anyone thinks that they can help with the projects I've listed above or has ideas about what they would like to see up here, please email me --> caseyl@lvdiscgolf.com. Thanks! |

Bob West Tourney We started Saturday at the Fountain, 24 holes of fun! What a beautiful morn. The first round was good. (Stokely shot a -13) Then came the wind! Really strong gusts during the 2nd round, not too many good scores. (Julianna shot a +2 the 2nd round though.) Third round was at Vista. Rain was forecast and it rained, man did it rain. It came in spurts, kinda like the wind... The gallery for the final was pretty big (biggest I have seen, ~70 people) There was a three way tie for 4th, so there were 7 finalists. Stokely, Bamba Rico, Al 'Sugar' Schack, Micah Dorius, Dr. Rick Voakes, Ron Russell, and Steve Wisecup. Everyone watched as Stokely took first. Notable locals: I shot +14 for the tourney (not sure what place), Kats beat me by a stroke; I whooped up on JJ, beat him by 2 ;). John Austin took home 1st in Advanced Master; Scott Austin and Charles Matheson took home 6th and 7th in Advanced. I haven't really talked to anyone else yet, so if your score is not up here, email me: caseyl@lvdiscgolf.com. |

Peccole update: I've cleaned up a couple of the tee signs. Signs 1, 2, 3, 13, 14 are cleaned and I also corrected some of the signs. I put vinyl over several of the fixes. If there are any other signs that are tagged, or in need of repair; please let me know. I should be able to get up there during my lunch and take care of it. As always, *please* respect others in the park and watch your language and extracurricular activities. Thanks. |

The inaugural Gentlemen's Club Challenge is complete! Unofficially, Mike Cloyes squeaked by John Katsigenis (1 stroke) to take first in the Open Division. Charles Matheson took first place in the Advanced Amateur Division. John Austin took first in Intermediate Amateur. I should have all the results posted by tomorrow night. Thanks to everyone who made our tournament possible!!! FYI, I took 6T in the Open Division (tied Alan Zamora). |

| 2000.01.22 - |
The first two rounds of the inaugural Gentlemen's Club Challenge are complete!
Unofficially, we had 42 people turnout for our first PDGA event. A handful of guys from AZ came up too. The weather was beautiful; Sunny, 60's and a slight breeze... scores for me on the other hand weren't too hot. We'll have more on the scores tomorrow night. The top three spots in each division are very tight with only a few strokes separating the leaders from the rest of the pack. Two more rounds tomorrow will decide the champs! More tomorrow night. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 2000.01.17 - | I've been *really* busy with work lately... haven't had too much time to play DG, let alone update the site. The Gentlemen's Club Challenge is coming along very nicely. We've got about 20-30 pre-registered and about the same saying they'll sign up the morning of the event. Not too bad for our first event! :) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

T E A M Golf! For the first time ever, a team representing Las Vegas will participate in the Southwestern Team Disc Golf Invitational at Morley Field in San Diego. Team Captain Mike Cloyes ended the tryouts for the remaining 4 open spots today. Charles Matheson and Jason Barnes played a 9 hole playoff for the last spot on the team. Jason held on to a one stroke advantage to make the team! The team consists of:
Thanks to all the guys that tried out! Good luck Team and bring me back somethin! ;) I have more pics from JJ and will be putting them up tonight! |

| 1999.11.23 - | I got a bunch of images from Jeff J, so I put up a couple under our new Gallery section. Take a look! I should have some more tomorrow night. I have images from the Mount Charleston excursion... More tomorrow night. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 1999.11.22 - | Well... the Vegas Boys are back from The Fountain Hills Thrills in AZ. There was a pretty big turn out from Vegas(about 18). We all had a great time! Nice job ADGC! Jeff Jacquart brought his digital camera along. I should have some images tonight or tomorrow night and also a wrap up of how everyone did. I gotta go to work now.... | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 1999.11.16 - |
A couple of notes... a small, rag-tag group of folfers were on a mission this past weekend. They met up at
Mount Charleston (Lee Canyon, specifically) and laid out a small 5 basket/9 hole course. There should be some pics and
may be even some stories from eye witnesses (this means you, Chuck!) in the next couple of days... Also I have gotten the results from the Pro Weekend out at Floyd Lamb State Park. Check out these results and past tourney results below. |

Well another great year at the Vegas Halloween Classic has passed... We had a great turn out on both weekends! FULL!
Now that its all over everyone is trying to regroup. I've gotten several emails concerning the posting of scores. I'm working with Mike Cloyes and Tom Campoli and as soon as I get the results I'll post 'em. If you'd like to be emailed when the results are posted please email me, Casey Lewis, to let me know. Thanks to all participants, sponsors, volunteers, Floyd Lamb State Park and Sunset Park for making both weekends so memorable! |

The Am Weekend is coming up and we're putting the finishing touches on everything. Looks like we are going to have a good turnout! I will try to post the results for the Am weekend more timely than I am posting the results from the Pro weekend ;)
I should be traveling with the Gentlemen's Club to Phoenix for the Thrills at Fountain Hills tourney in the coming weeks, see you there. As soon as Tom Campoli gets his new computer all squared away, I should have some info on the club and club's events, leagues, etc. |

The Las Vegas Halloween Classic (Pro Weekend) is complete. Everything went well for the most part... except for the bottlenecks near hole 20 and the splitting up of the second round between Saturday and Sunday... All in all it was a great tourney! I'm going to try to get the results from Mike Cloyes within the next couple of days and post them here. Check back! |

1999 Amateur Worlds Update We are back. We both made the cut to 90 on Friday. At Swope, I shot a +3 and Jeff fell apart shooting a +12. With the +12 Jeff eclipsed Casey for the worst score of the tourney for Region 16. ;) I ended the tourney tied for 77 with a +15 for the week and Jeff settled in at 85th, which is +24 for the tourney. We each won a disc (1)... Jeff lost $30 in golf side bets to Casey, and Casey lost over $300 monopoly dollars to Jeff playing pinball (Addams Family). All in all we had a great time!!! Final scores (334k file) |

1999 Amateur Worlds Update So far so good...Round 1: Jeff shot a 2 over and Casey shot a 6 under (hopefully making up for yesterday) putting them both around the 100 spot after the first round. They need to be in the top 90 tomorrow in order to make the first cutoff. Now it's lunch and on to another course...

1999 Amateur Worlds Update 9:00am tee time. The boys head to their first of two rounds of golf. Their enjoying KC's heatwave and "100%" humidity. (Well, it seems like 100% to two Las Vegas boys.) They've both blamed the extra weight of their soaked shirts for missing a couple of putts. Tomorrow we should have an idea of how the rounds went.

1999 Amateur Worlds Update Casey and Jeff arrived in KC and checked in at the host hotel, Holiday Inn. Casey says there's dg everywhere and even mini courses set up in the lobby of the hotel. When they check in they get a cool players package and head to their room for a good nights sleep.

| 1999.06.13 - | Nevada Flying Disc Championships. Mark Molnar wins the 1999 Nevada Flying Disc Championship. The results are in! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 1999.06.12 - |
First day of the Nevada Flying Disc Championships. Battling the crowds out at Freedom Park, an elite group of 12
played (1) round of golf (with a couple of alternate holes to allow for the soccer games), (2) rounds of bulls-eye, and (2) rounds of
MTA. The results... we're not sure yet we've got another day of trials tomorrow. ;)
John "The Wall" Katsigenis made it out as a pacer for MTA, and had a couple of ~6 sec catches. Jeff Kennedy had the low score (-7) in golf; Phil "Bulls-eye" Brown took first in bulls-eye (hence the name); Mark "the Chicken" Molnar took first in MTA with a combined (2) round score of ~21sec. This year the Prize division has pared down to a few fearless ams. Tom "Baskethead" Robinson, Loren Mattson, Laurie Cloyes, and Earl Wilcox. The Cash field is as follows: Jeff Jacquart, Billy Schmidt, Mike Cloyes, Jeff Kennedy (TD), Pat Bragg, Phil Brown, Casey Lewis, and Mark Molnar (who, coincidentally, will be getting the coveted "Outta Stater" award.) —More news and final results tomorrow. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 1999.06.07 - | I played the Tahoe Daily Challenge this past weekend. The tourney was great! Craig Getty and all the Tahoe volunteers did a great job with the tournament and the course. The course itself was incredible; multiple pin placements, lots of trees, tight windows ;), and great views. The rounds got harder as the weekend progressed. They moved baskets after each of the rounds, always to longer, tougher placements. Then during the final 9 (holes 10,14-18,24-26), all baskets were in their longest placements. It was unbelievable! Great job Tahoe, thanks for the tourney! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 1999.05.30 - | The 4 new holes at Sunset are great. Holes 16, 17, 18 have been relocated from near the basketball courts and baseball field on the east-side of the park, to the back of the park. A new basket has been added to bring Sunset up to 19 holes and a practice basket. The 4 new holes have several pin placements and make Sunset a more challenging course. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 1999.05.30 - | Another record breaking turn out for league! 58 players! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 1999.05.23 - | Record turn out for the weekly league! 51 players! Great job LVDGC! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
